Pye Bridge Junction
12th August 2007

At Pye Bridge junction the freight only route from Mansfield joins the Erewash. Prior to the 1969 resignalling of Trent there were four tracks north to Alfreton but the slow lines were removed at the same time as the semaphore signalling and since then the Pye Bridge-Clay Cross section has been two tracks only.

I haven't been here for about 18 months now and I suppose that this is yet another viewpoint that is no longer accesible due to fencing. I'll have to go and have a look.

Update-there is pallisade fencing but you can still get a decent photo. The points have all gone but it's still a good location. Go in the morning for the sun to be behind you.
